DIRECTION / CREATIVE FACILITATION (FEBRUARY—MARCH 2024)

A series of workshops led by University of Sussex alumnus JORDI M. CARTER (Drama and Film Studies BA Hons, Class of 2021) exploring the mental health of LGBTQIA+ students through theatre and performance. Part of the CREATING VOICE project at the University, BEING BOLD TOGETHER aimed to:

  • increase social engagement and confidence amongst LGBTQIA+ students

  • develop a mutual understanding of LGBTQIA+ mental health issues across the student community

  • improve access to mental health services within the University of Sussex for LGBTQIA+ students

  • encourage students to reflect on their university journey and provide a platform for feedback

  • create a physical representation of the student voice journey that can be shared inside and outside of the institution

  • develop transferable skills amongst LGBTQIA+ students and staff to explore their creativity.

With thanks to ROSIE JONESCHRIS SAUNDERS, ELEANOR ARIFF, and KEIRA THOMAS.
